Christmas cake, spice and all things nice
We've got a bangin combo today. Big IPA's, Sherry Monsters and dark chocolate stogies.
Weird Beard Brew Co. Five O'clock Shadow 7%ABV - Always fresh but the hops don't overpower. A great malt backbone full of sweetness with a big mouthfeel which matched with the hops creates a well balanced citrus style IPA. This is a cracker paired with a sherry bomb.
The Glendronach Cask Strength (batch 6) 56.1%ABV - The entry level in their cask strength offerings meant to compete with the likes of Aberlour A’bunadh, Glenfarclas 105 and Glengoynes own NAS Cask Strength. In typical Glendronach fashion this whisky is full of christmas cake and caramel flavours with a honey mouthfeel. The strength is subdued by the syrup-like liquid and works incredibly well with dark cigars.
Partagas Serie D No. 4 - Amongst the darker and spicier of the Habanos core ranges, these sticks are known for their earthy flavours, think farms - hay, mud and bark (trust me, tastes better than it sounds) but are massively creamy and sometimes chocolatey. At 4 7/8 x 50 these robustos are a great vitola for any style of cigar nerd.
This combo really is a belter! The flavours work so well together with none overpowering the other. Caution! This ain’t for you lightweights...
